Strange Cough!

Hello all, for about a month now I have had a cough with chest congestion, sometimes it's productive, sometimes it's not, and I cough up green and yellow sputum. I also have nasal congestion and when I blog my nose it's green mucus. The symptoms actually seem to go away late night and return a while after I wake up. I have had no fever and no other symptoms.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

There is clearly something not right since you have been bringing up discoloured mucus for so long.

Only the doctor, by examining and listening to your lungs and examining your ears and throat, will be able to say whether this is serious or not.

At the end of the it certainly is not normal, and you do need to get checked out.

Best wishes.

Thank you for the replys. Do you think this is very serious, since I have no fever, I really can't tell. I don't actually feel sick and it doesn't stop my daily routines.

Anytime you have some sort of GREEN/YELLOW MUCUS ...  you're on the verge of a HORRIBLE Sinus infection.  GO to your family doctor and be seen to bet an antibiotic sooner, rather than later!!!

As you have had it for so long now, I suggest you make an appointment to see your doctor as you may need a course of antibiotics to shift it.

Steam inhalations using vick or olbas oil will help to loosen up the congestion in the sinuses and help to bring up the mucus.

You can also purchase a nasal spray to help to decongest the passages.

The doctor will be able to examine you by listening to your lungs and prescribe the correct medication if this is thought to be required.

You may benefit from a course of antihistamines and the doctor can also check you out for any lung disorders like asthma.

Best wishes.
