Why do I get a sharp chest pain when I cough?

I've got a fever and was sneezing and coughing a lot. The thing is that everytime i coughed I would feel a sharp jab of pain in the right side of my chest. Can anyone tell me if this is something I should be worried about?

You are fine. When a person is coughing hard and for a long period of time there is a chance that they could pull a muscle in there chest. That is what it sounds like has happened.
