cold symptoms for weeks

Hi there. I'm now 21 weeks pregnant and have cold symptoms for several weeks now. Noone around me has a cold or had a cold. I've constantly got a blocked or runny nose, headache and feel hot. Should I be worried or see a doctor, is this common as I never experienced this in my previous 2pregnancies. Thanks x

I think being pregnant lowers the immunity a bit.  I was very sick on and off the winter I was pregnant with my second child.

I too have allergies and typically with that you get a histamine response----  that 'itchy' feeling.  (why antihistimines work).  Ugh.  Hate that.  You can take claritan(over the counter) when pregnant by the way.  I did as my Fall allergies were active while pregnant.

Manage the symptoms . . . ugh.  Like you need something else to make you uncomfortable while pregnant.  If they get worse----see your doc.  Secondary infections happen all the time when we are congested and sinuses are involved.  drink double the liquid and get your rest.  good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Thank you all so much. It's put my mind at rest, will mention it to midwife tomorrow. No spraying here in UK of chemicals near me but definitely worth mentioning to midwife. Thanks all of you once again and I hope all your pregnancies are going as well as expected x

Cold symptoms around this time are pretty well recorded..if your symptoms persist or get worst you should notify your OB and Based on their advice they'll remedy the situation or send you on to your primary care.

I did wonder that. But it came on all of a sudden and hasn't left! I've not used anything different such as cleaning stuff or sprays. I do suffer with hayfever with tree pollen but I usually have awfully it itchy eyes and I don't have that but I suppose it could be different due to pregnancy.
