flu and back

I have had flu like symptoms for 48 hours: body ache, fatigue, congestion.  One of my symptoms has been troubling me.  I have an ache in my lower back.  I am not normally a person with back pain.  My back feels weak and aches.  When I cough or sneeze, it sends the my back into spasms.  Just wondered if this was normal.

That is another excellent question for your family physician. That being said, MODERATE daily doses of vitamin C and folic acid,  B-12 and especially vitamin D3 will assist in your recovery. Of course drink plenty of fluids.

My husband is the same way. His back really hurts. I gave him a muscle relaxer and anti inflamitory and he said it makes it feel better. It's probably from the coughing and squeezing of the muscles. His dr. checked for kidney problems and there weren't any. Hope you feel better soon!
