Do I have Ulcerative Collitus?

Hi there!
I'm 18 and have been having stomach problems for a year now. These include bloating, sometimes cramping or an uncomfortable feeling before/during using the bathroom, my stool is also alternating between diahorrea and constipation-but sometimes its normal, When its diahorrea its a very light brown colour, sometimes I feel that I need to go to the bathroom but nothing coming out-sometimes mucus, yellowish mucus on my stool, excess gas and I have  a lot of colic-I've had this since I was a baby.

I went to the doctor about 8 months ago and had a few blood tests, a stool test and an ultra sound. The ultra sound was clear and I'm not entirely sure of everything my doctor tested me for but all that came up in the tests he took was a thyroid problem and a very mild liver disorder called Gilberts Syndrome.
He said that I have Irritable Bowl Syndrome as well.
So i was advised to change my diet (which was quite bad) and not to over do the wheat and milk but i can still have it. I did as he told me and have completely changed the way I eat and it is gradually better then it was but I still have alot of these symptoms!

This is my problem though! Last month I started finding small amounts of blood around my stool and sometimes the mucus is mixed with it. The blood is sometimes light red but sometimes it can be quite a dark red(like the colour of a but that has clotted) my stomach has also been more unsettled and sore then usual... And a friend of mine said that she had very similar symptoms and they misdiagnosed her Ulcerative Collitus for IBS. When she went back a few months later they did a few more tests and found she did have Ulcerative Collitus!!

So I would just like to know is it worth getting checked again??
Does it sound like I might have Ulcerative Collitus??

Thank You!! (sorry my question is so long! ;) )

Hi,
Though blood in stools does not occur in IBS, an associated hemorrhoids may cause it.

IBD (UC) is definitely a possibility.
Colonoscopy can be done for establishing the diagnosis.
Consult your gastro to have a colonoscopy done.

Apologeese I meant the colour of a clotted CUT!
Also forgot to add that I am quite an anxious and tense person when I'm stressed sometimes which the doctor said can add to my IBS!!
Thanks again!
