Severe discomfort after pain meds

Hi, I have had Crohn's disease since 2004. I had a flare up several months ago and I was taken to a local hospital (I live in Amman Jordan now but only been living here recently. I am a bay area native). When I arrived to the hospital severe pain had kicked in and I was given Tramal for pain (They do not like to give morphine here). It controlled the pain at the time and i was sent home. Within a couple of hours a weird and severe sensation of discomfort started to the point I had to be taken back to the hospital. I had the same symptoms a few months later with a pain Med called Pascoban. This is scaring the heck out of me because when a flare up happens again I will be suffering from the pain and the pain meds.

Something else that happens with this sensation is that I feel like I am having a hard time breathing, my body gets tight and i start clenching my fists so hard and my whole body feels weird.

PLEASE HELP. The doctors here do not know what it is or even try to fidn out what it is. Meanwhile, I am living in fear every single day.

Hi,
Where exactly is the pain felt?
How long does each episode of pain last?
Any worsening or relieving factors?
Any tests like CT/ ultrasound scan done?
Any symptom other than pain?

Hi Doctor,

It is not a pain that I feel. It is hard to discribe, I start to feel it in the back of my knees first and then my legs start to feel weird, then my body starts to get very tense to the point that i have to go back to the hospital from the severity. In the hospital they tell me that all is fine, vitals, heart etc. the espisode if minor enough would last 2 to 4 hours. The only revlieving factor I had once when It was so severe I was screaming at the top of my lungs until they gave me so much narcotics in the IV that it put me in a messed up where I was unaware of anything. There were no worsening factors. It only would get worse if I get more pain meds. No CT's were ever done because they keep telling me that I am fine and there is nothing wrong with me simply because my vitals are fine. Once however, the shortness breath aspect of the episode was bad enough that I had to get rushed into  special room where they gave me oxygen (Only made me worse) connected me to a EKG machine to monitor my heart did all kinds of blood tests where everything came back fine and kept a close eye on me till the symptoms got better.

I have a feeling that what I am going through is not very common, because even Tylonol gives me a minor episode. Needless to say that I have been getting through pain the last year or so by toughing it out which has a very bad psychological efect on me because I always feel fear of flare ups and my wife and baby cannot feel much better seeing me go through this.

I really hope you came accross this before because I am in serious need of help.
