Should I be worried about my husband

I am worried my husband might have Colitis or something worse.   My husband is going to be 31 in May.   We have been together for about 4 years now and in those 4 years my husband has been having stomach problems.   It seems his stomach is always "messed up" as he says.  I gets these stomach attacks all the time.    I don't think he has ever had a regular bowel movement.   As he say "he blows up the toliet."   I have asked him about when he goes is it always diarrhea.    I don't think he has had a solid bowel movement in forever.   He even had blood in stool a couple of times.   He won't go to the dr to get checked.    I am worried cause no one should have that many bowel movements a day or "blow up the toliet" like he does.

Hi,

You might try him on a gluten free diet.

This is a diet that is free of wheat, barley, rye and oats, and anything made from them.

You can search the net to find out more information.  You need to be strict with the diet for at least a few weeks (up to a month), to see if it helps.

Another possible food related cause is dairy (particularly lactose in milk)...

If this doesn't help (and even if it does) he should see a dr. for full evaluation.

Cheers

Hi momoftwo378,

Chronic diarrhea with blood in stools a couple of times needs proper evaluation.

A colonoscopy has to be done to see what exactly is the cause.

Discuss with your doctor regarding this test.
