this has been going on for 1 month

Hi.  55 yr old female.  3 weeks ago,  diarrhea started, about 8 times/day. Finally went to gastro dr.  He prescribed flagyl, thinking it was c diff.  He ordered  lab tests for it.  After being very sick for another week while on med, his nurse then admitted she ordered the wrong tests.  None for c diff.  I was told to go off the flagyl for 3 days, then repeat the lab tests, 3 more times.  The first 2 have come back neg., don't know about the 3rd one.  Now the dr says, well, maybe it's your meds.  How will he ever know?  Could the flagyl have made me better, therefore the neg. labwork?  So, he took me off the prevacid, which I"ve been on for 3 months with no problems.  I've been on wellbutrin, xanax, and atenelol for 20 years.  And now, after about a 5 day repreive, the diarrhea is starting back, but not as bad as those first 2 weeks.  I am very tender in lower abnoman, and I want to sleep most of the day and nite.  I've mostly had oatmeal, chicken broth, yogurt, noodles, and bananas since this started, nothing else.  No appetite.  I've dropped 2 pants sizes in 6 weeks.  I have an appt with the dr in 5 days.  He said if I", not better, he will do a CT scan, and repeat the lab work for c diff, but he said he did not expect to find anything.
I am at my wit's end.  My life as I knew it is not the same.  I don't leave the house, go to work, nothing.
Your thoughts would be appreciated!

Hi,
Since you had been on antibiotics for 3 weeks in December, the chances of C-diff infection is high. You need to confirm it with stool tests. Flagyl is the first line drug for treating c-diff infection. It has to be taken for 10-14 days. Improvement will be seen within 2-4 days , but still you have  to complete the course. ================================================================
