Could it be colon cancer?

Ok well lets start off by saying I am 25 years old. My family has a long history of medical problems, ranging from vascular diseases, to colon cancer in my sister who was diagnosed at 35, BUT they assume it had been there for almost 6 years at least! So I have some questions. Two and a half years ago my bowels were normal. Then after I had my daughter they started to change. First I noticed mucous about two months after I had her. Then it started getting worse. I was only going regularly about twice a week, and when I wasnt going, I was only letting out mucous. NO BLOOD at all. Then about a year ago, my bowels started to become thinner, then got to the point where they were pencil thin. Now a year later (two years after first symptom) my bowels are ONLY pencil thin, I have mucous daily sometimes ALOT of it. When I go to the bathroom or feel like I have to go, sometimes or most of the time nothing comes out except for mucous. And when I do go (maybe every other day if lucky), I never feel satisfied.... Sometimes I lie in bed with the urge to go, and try to go and nothing comes out. I have been feeling SUPER sleepy, and has gotten really bad! I also get FREQUENT headaches and joint pains (dont know if they are related). I actually feel terrible almost daily! As a child I had alot of problems, I got pnuemonia monthly which stopped at around 16 when I got the pnuemonia shot, also was diagnosed with an ulcer when I was 12 (which has since cleared WITHOUT surgery) also had a heart murmur but havent heard anything about it since I was a kid, and never have really gotten it checked since then. Also had a problem with throwing up DAILY with overactivity which actually ONLY stopped after I had my daughter, once born I never experienced that anymore, and ALWAYS got frequent headaches since I can remember, and also have been fatigued for the last two years I would say, but has now gotten to the point where some daily activities have even become hard. I have actually become kind of dizzy lately, with light sensitivity to my eyes which radiats a big headache, I have pain in my right eye and cheek bone, and ALSO at the upper part of my nose on the right side between my eyes but on the right side ONLY and also hurts my nose when I chew but doesnt hurt my jaw, and this has started about a month ago now, where it sometimes seems unbearable and debilitating, I do not know if this kind of sign has ANYTHING to do with my bowel symptoms or not, MEANING if it is colon cancer, could it have spread a cancer to my nasal cavity or something? Anyways my question is, do any of my symptoms seem like colon cancer? I have really become worried now after some abdominal discomfort on my left side kind of towards my hip.... I am reluctant I guess to go to my doctor, since these symptoms have lasted a LONG time and just finally I feel so crappy enough that I am worried now. If anyone has any suggestions etc, or thinks I should really get to the doctor, then maybe I will. I just HATE going! I usually am the type to wait until things are unbeaqrable to go.

Hi, im 36 yrs old and have been diagnosed with many dif digestive disorders(IBS, Gastritis, H.Pyloi, constipation, melanin something which is a discoloration of the colon) besides other disorders(anxiety depression, bipolar, ADHD ETC.)  and pretty much got sick of going to the Dr. Only to be given another diagnosis and pill.Sounds to me that you are severely constipated. Ice been constipated for years and just discovered and started doing water and coffee enemas about 1 1/2 yrs ago.  I had a colonoscopy done around the same time, Enemas are the only relief I've gotten. Also discovered I have parasites and an extreme over growth of candida albicans(look these up, especially candida and its relationship to cancer) through enemas I have passed years and years of muck and build up, enough to make me cry many days BC of the disbelief and shock of the amount ive expelled. After this long I am STILL expelling things that have long been stored in the build up and plack of My colon, what took 36 years to build up I figure will take sometime to break down and get rid of. Please look into these and also a parasite cleanse, parasites can cause all kinds of blockages and constipation which in turn causes pain and blood and eventually colon cancer. Good luck.

Hi Jd,
Thanks so much for getting back to me I appreciate it. Last night I finally was researching it, before I posted on here. I really didnt have TOO much of a concern. I actually thought the mucous was more of a problem then my pencil thin stool, until when I looked up the symptoms of what that could be, I found out it usually means an obstruction, so it got my attention! And the fact that I have mucous AND that is a big concern since they are too symptoms.... One alone COULD just mean something but both is a concern, and also my being orverly tired lately is a concern too. BUt maybe also I am having blood in my stool and didnt really know it, cause my stool is ALWAYS a very LIGHT brownish color, and then there are a couple spots throughout it that are like a dark brownish maybe ting of red color, but more like a mahoganey color. Like most will be light brown then like a very small part of it somwhere will be a dark color like that....? Is that dried blood or something? I dont know, i am concerned but cant seem to get myself to go to the doctor. I will keep you updated, im not going today maybe thursday....we'll see I guess! But thanks so much! And if you could let me know if maybe that seems like blood would be great! I never thought about it, BUt now that I am maybe it is!

I'm sorry to say that your family history and the bowel symptoms you report sound very much like colon cancer could be the problem.  I had a long family history of colon cancer (three generations before me, if I only knew it) and I had many of the bowel symptoms you describe, together with bleeding and eventually uncontrollable muscle spasms in my sphincter and severe pain.  I had rectal cancer that was in an advanced stage before I sought medical advice.  I urge you to take your concerns to a doctor without delay.  Colorectal cancer is a slow developing disease and there is a lot to be gained by early detection and treatment.

Best of luck to you.  Please post again and let us know what your doctor says.  Feel free to send me a private message if you wish.
