Interesting information. One problem that CFS patients have is an abnormal clotting system. What many people (including physicians, unfortunately) don't realize is that infections can trigger the clotting system. Why ? Because according to Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum... "many infectious organisms do not suvive well in the presence of oxygen. (anaerobic). Mycoplasma (which can be anaerobic) and other organisms may trigger the clotting system to create a shell, which then acts like a suit of armor, protecting them from oxygen, your body's denfense system, and antibiotics".

This is probably why some physicians are actually prescribing heparin for some CFS patients.

nitric oxide, which causes narrowed blood vessels to relax. Nitric oxide is a simple gas which has vast biological benefit to human body and produce by the body specifically to help and keep the arteries and veins free of the plaque that cause stroke and to maintain normal blood pressure by relaxing the arteries, thereby regulating the rate of blood flow and preventing coronaries. NO influences the functioning of the virtually every bodily organ, including the lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, genitals and the heart. We need only small amounts of nitric oxide to take advantage of its powerful healing powers, but most people do not produce enough of it to keep their cardiovascular system functioning smoothly. Over a lifetime, the endothelium can be damaged by unhealthy lifestyle and environmental toxins as well as the aging process. When our body starts producing less NO or none, it will leave us vulnerable to cardiovascular diseases. Today we have nearly 150,000 to 200,000 People with some kind of heart diseases in Denmark alone. Every year some 33,000 Danes hospitalize and 11,042 die from Ischemic heart disease. In 2004, the economic cost of all cardiovascular disease was approximately 3.67 billion Kroner, including health expenditures and lost productivity. More than 2 billion Kroner was spent on cardiovascular drugs (Health Ministry 2005). In the mentioned year the heart related diseases was number two killer in Denmark. Another important factor in the surge of cardiovascular disease is the consumption of High density cholesterols in our daily food and obesity. The biggest contributor to this fact is, the fast food culture that harming our cardiovascular health and also causing obesity in an alarm rate in children. We can bring down the trend of cardiovascular related death and increase in obesity in Denmark by introducing a fundamental change in people’s lifestyle including those who are suffering from Heart diseases. Today most of the cardiovascular disease does not have to happen as we have a wonder drug to safeguard our cardiovascular health. Nitric oxide could prevent nearly all kind of cardiovascular disease, but if we try to boost its levels in our body. In our project “How to boost the levels of Nitric oxide in our body” we have tried to find different but practical ways to increase levels of NO in our body and increase our chances of better health and longer life. This could be happened by combining nitric oxide friendly food in our daily diet, supplement program and moderate exercise. These will create a healthy environment inside our body to produce more NO. Nitric oxide is produced in the body by an enzyme called nitric oxide syntheses, which converts the amino acid Arginine to nitric oxide and Citrulline.
Physical activity accelerates blood flow, increase the levels of the enzyme NO syntheses that produce NO and increase the amount of Nitric oxide in the body. Aerobic exercises increase the cardiovascular fitness. We have a plan for cardiovascular exercise that helps to increase the level of NO in our body for this reason we divide the exercise into three important parts. Warm up, conditioning aerobic exercise and cool down. Physical exercise will accelerate the production of NO in human body and also decrease the blood pressure of patients with hypertension, because exercise can help to ensure that the endothelial cells are producing sufficient amount of nitric oxide which keeps the blood flow cruising farther than racing through the body.
Foods rich in antioxidants and amino acid L-arginine and L-citrulline play critical roles in the body’s production of nitric oxide. NO is very critical to our cardiovascular wellness, and L-arginine, which is enhanced by L- citrulline is an important component in stimulating our body’s production of nitric oxide. Since amino acids are the building blocks of protein it should come as no surprise that best sources of dietary L-arginine and L-citrulline are protein rich foods such as red meat, chicken and fish. We know that there is wide variety of food that helps increase the production of NO in our body. But foods only cannot supply all NO we need. So taking supplement can also be a good choice for better cardiovascular health.
New Vitamin + arginine supplement:- Now we learned a lot about the benefit of this wonder drug. We would like to develop a new vitamin daily supplement for adults and children, where we will include amino acid L-arginine and L-citrulline and major antioxidants for better cardiovascular health for everyone. Heart disease may relate to an older age but most of cardiovascular diseases develop from childhood, so to prevent the death of over 12000 Danes annually, we have to introduce this new supplement as soon as possible as a best source to protect our heart. Arginine is an amino acid found in meats, grains and fish. Arginine and Citrulline play critical roles in the body’s production of NO. NO is critical to our cardiovascular wellness, and Arginine, which is enhanced by Citrulline is an important component in stimulating our body’s production of nitric oxide.
Arginine supplement dosage 4-6 grams a day We could add this recommended Arginine dosage in our daily vitamin supplement. We also recommended a smaller dosage of Arginine for children because it will help their bodies to produce optimal levels of NO for their better health. Our new supplement will contain little bit higher dosage of vitamin E and C because today a normal vitamin supplement has only 90 mg of vitamin C which we want to increase it to nearly 500 mg in our new vitamin+ Arginine supplement.
For better production of NO in our body, we have combined different but related factors together to safeguard our cardiovascular system and so we can live a longer life. Making physical activity a regular and important part of your life and you will begin to notice significant improvements in your capacity for exercise. Over time, your endothelial health will improve, and the accompanying increased production of NO will cause greater vasodilatation and improved blood flow. That in turn will increase your ability to exercise. We can make more of this by keeping the NO rich food and vitamin + Arginine supplement part of our daily usage. But if we only start taking NO friendly foods, we cannot supply our body enough Arginine to produce NO. Red meat, fish, nuts which are the best source of Arginine and could increase levels of NO in our body but we have to eat nearly a Kilo gram of one of them to happen this. But that will also increase our body’s fat and HDL cholesterol. If we combine a NO rich food, moderate physical activity and proper amount of amino acid and antioxidant, our body will become nitric oxide producing powerhouse and that will keep our endothelium cells healthy and our blood will flow easily which can lower our blood pressure. In Denmark majority of people eat vitamin pills everyday to have a healthy life. We are able to make our life healthier by adding amino acid Arginine, Citrulline in our daily vitamin supplement. This will be essential to reduce obesity in children and adults. We only need to change our lifestyle. The method we described in this project will boost the levels of NO significantly.
We have combined physical exercise, Nitric oxide rich foods and use of daily supplement of amino acid Arginine & Vitamins for an optimal increase of NO production in the endothelium cells. These three mentioned methods will safeguard our cardiovascular health, strengthen our physical and mental capabilities and also protect our body from infectious diseases.

P.S. I take 2 tablespoons per day of fish oil to keep my blood from clotting  the oil keeps the blood platelets slippery and just about any supplement that starts with a G

I believe Arginine is not recommended for those with viral infections, such as EBV.
