Although taking individual vitamins is more therapeutic for specific conditions, only someone very weakened or sick should notice a multi. The purpose of a multi is prophylactic, not to treat anything, given the difficulty of getting everything in an ordinary diet.
Thanks -I'll look into trying a good separate B1!
Tried B12 in the past - does nothing for me.
I'm convinced most multi vitamins are junk as I cant never tell any difference when I start or stop taking them.
Becoming a fan of higher quality individual vitamins, they seem to work better, and why take what you dont need.
I forgot to mention that I have an underactive thyroid.
My podiatrist Rx'd it for me after he did a lab test and found out I am deficient in it. I have had 3 surgeries on the same foot to alleviate tarsal tunnel syndrome. Still had problems. not taking 200 mg a day(divided) and I do believe it has helped.
B6 also helps nerve pain.
I also have hypothyroidism and that is believed to contribute to the TT. Isn't that such a lovely disease to have(hypoT)? It causes a plethora of other problems.
I took B1 for sciatica and it got rid of it completely. Sometimes I get a severe muscle cramp after I go to bed. I immediately get up, got the medicine cabinet, take out a 100 mg B1, open the capsule and dump it in my mouth. In a very short while the cramp goes away. It works every time. (I have tried not taking the B1 and the cramp either goes away and comes back, or doesn't go away.) I am assuming that it is a nerve that causes the muscle to cramp.
