I'd be interested in remedies for waking up very early

Does anyone have any suggestions of anything that would help to stop being awakened very early with physical feelings of being very hot and tingling?

I do take a multi vitamin, but not one particularly for women.  I'll investigate.  Thanks so very much.

Thanks.  Hormones and thyroid were both investigated, but apparently neither was the problem.  I see my internist next week, though, so we'll revisit the issue.  I appreciate your help and interest. Best wishes to you.

Night sweats, hot feeling are usually hormones based issues. As Peggy said, check adrenals. A 24 hour saliva adrenal test is better that a one time cortisol blood test.

Have you had thyroid levels Free t3 and Free T4 tested, not just TSH (a pituitary messenger hormone not active hormone your cell need.). Your symptoms are common with thyroid.

Also could be an adrenal issue. Too much or too little cortisol will do this. Ask me!!  I KNOW!!!

Sounds like your meds that are causing your problems. Have you ever looked for a physical reason for your insomnia?  With me it was a lack of iodine. Since I take iodine supplements I sleep just fine. Drug-induced sleep is not that great.

Thanks, again.  I'll check with my internist about the trazodone.  I'm not really enthused about taking meds if I can avoid it. You've raised some interesting questions.

I would check and see if it's a side effect of the meds.  I asked about the niacin because that's the effect it produces.  That's also a lot of milk, given most humans can't utilize the stuff well.  But I'd go with the meds and see if maybe that's the source.  It could, for example, be the trazadone wearing off, or just a side effect of it.  Meds for sleep interfere with normal patterns of sleep and can cause a lot of unusual effects.  For example, many antidepressants cause night sweats which can wake people out of a sound sleep.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I take 50 mg. Trrazodone, for sleep. My only other medication is Maxzide. I am not intentionally taking a lot of niacin.  My multi-vitamin lists 20 mg.  As far as I know my diat does not include an unusually high amount of niacin.  I do eat bran cereal and drink about 4 8-oz. glasses of milk a day.

Are you on any medication?  And are you intentionally or by accident taking a lot of niacin anywhere near bedtime?
