Influenza, how long is too long ?

How long is too long for the Flu to last or to be feeling the effects of it? Had mostly headach and upset stomach, aching but no vomiting. Perhaps a lite fever for a day. The worst was over at the end of third day but still feel rotten, weak, tired and not inclined to eat much now on the 7th day. MY husband had it first so is into his10th day and also feeling much as I do. We are both in our early 70's and neither have had Flu Shots.

It is very important to rest so you don't relapse. Take lots of Ester C and eat lots of homemade chicken soup!!! :)
Sending you and your husband well wishes..........................
Have you tried any herbal antivirals or homeopathics?

CDC backtracks on its flu stance

In other words, that 36,000-fatality fantasy they've been selling was a wild and dramatic overestimate pulled from their own hindquarters. And the new lower numbers STILL don't come close to the truth -- because any time someone sniffles on their way to the grave, the CDC quickly labels it a "flu death."

And that's only when they bother tracking it at all -- last year, during the height of the swine flu frenzy, the CDC actually told state health authorities to stop counting while the agency just made up any number it pleased.

The truth is, flu is directly responsible for only a few hundred American deaths in most years. Throw in the occasional outbreak, and you get an average of around 1,348 annual deaths, according to a study in the British Medical Journal.

Yes, very few people die of flu, and even fewer die of swine flu, which is less serious. So much for our pandemic.
