I went on this part medhelp to seek any info on McCains suppliment bill.

Yes the old geezer want all supplements to be controlled and possibly need prescriptions. Even vitamins. It was shot down last night thank god. They will keep trying to line the pockets of big pharma. I think the anti Canadian drug import biz is in this also, dont know though.

Years ago when abortion was illegal, women had abortions. Were they to take supplements off the over-the-counter market, someone will still be supplying them and we will find a way to get them. I don't like that arrangement, but you can stop a good thing. There are not enough curse words in my vocabulary to express my thoughts about the venality of drug companies and the medical profession.

They've been trying this for years.  They came very close over a decade ago, and it was Waxman and Center for Science in the Public Interest behind it with Big Pharma.  It's an end around to ban supplements, because without the ability to patent them -- you can't patent naturally occurring substances -- there's no money to do the FDA testing that would be required.  It would just amount to a ban.  We beat them barely last time thanks to Orrin Hatch, so this one's not a liberal/conservative issue.

I read all about it in a report. shot down is correct but time will tell.
