knee pain

Is there a shot that can be injected in my knee for the pain.?  It is not a steroid shot.  I read this sometime ago and there were only a few Doctors certified to use it .  They were orthopedists I think

It depends upon the REASON for the pain. I ocasionally get severe knee pain (unable to walk) and fluid has to be extracted with a hypodermic syringe, which solves the problem. In other cases glucosamine might be indicated. You need an MRI of the knee and a diagnosis before thinking about requesting injections.

Yes it is probably glucosamine.  It is reputed to help rebuild cartilage.

Why don't you try acupuncture? I'm an acupuncturist and many patients come to me for knee pain and are very satisfied.
