Hi,
GERD patients may not go on to develop CHF. However, CHF patients are prone to GERD due to the use of the medications which can increase the acid production and reflux into the esophagus. It can also congestion in the stomach and GI tract predisposing the patient to gastric discomfort and acid reflux. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
