hey dave!!! thanks for getting back to me and yes it did help... well my inr level was a 1.8 last month(aug) so now i take 5mg every day. I get my blood check every month.. i don't eat any greens so no worries there. I should be getting a scan in a couple of months to see how the clot is... hopefully i can get off of this.
Hey mima, I've been a warfarin user for the past 5 yrs. INR range you want to be in is 2.0 - 3.0. Your Doc prob. wants to bump up your number since you're at the low end. You didn't mention if the 4 mg was prescribed just for one day or each day. Your INR # is affected by many things - diet, Vitamin K (dark greens esp.) and other items. What works for me? I have a home device where I check my INR (via a "finger stick") weekly. One sidelight I've become privy to: A "finger stick" INR check will result in a different number compared to a "blood draw" INR check.
Hope I've helped! --Dave--
