abdominal aorta aneurysm

Ultra sound detected a small AAA 2.6 cm 4yrs ago Each subsequent year it increased, 3.1, 3.6, 4.2. My cardiologist decided to refer me to a surgeon for further tests. MRI indicated NO enlargement at all. Why the discrepancy between ultra sound and MRI?

Well, only one of the two can be right.
Normally, the MRI is more reliable, but the trend comes from 4 successive echo's, which sounds very reliable too.
I would discuss the discrepancy with the surgeon and demand a trustworthy explanation .
