Heart and leg arteries

I'm a 63 year old male, 5'10" and 140 lbs.  non smoker for 35 years. I do a lot of walking in my job, anywhere from 2-5 miles per day. Every morning before I get out of bed, I do stretching exercises to loosen up my quads for the day. I've recently noticed that when I hold my leg straight up to stretch, the arteries/veins seem to collapse. They look like a road map because the blood is drained out.  Is that normal or a sign my heart isn't pumping as well?
