Carotid plaque

Hello,
I am a 41 year old male.  I have been undergoing some very positive health improvements recently and in getting a 6 month follow up bloodwork, I also had a heart scan and carotid scan.  The heart scan was very good with a calcification score of zero.

The carotid scan though noted "There is limited visualization of the carotid bifurcations secondary to the patient’s body habitus. The common carotids, internal carotids and external carotids are normal in caliber bilaterally. Plaque is identified within the proximal left ECA. No other significant plaque formation is identified within the remainder of either carotid arterial system. "

I won't be able to talk to Dr. until next week and am moderately freaking out.  The info above is all that I received so I don't know magnitude.  My question is simply how freaked do I need to be based on this info just until I can get to my Dr. to discuss futher?  More info below if needed/helfpul.

Thanks,

I do take lipitor as at one point cholesterol hit 240.  However I have been on Lipitor for 2 years since then andfor several years earlier, with maybe a 2 year gap when I was told to try without.  While on Lipitor I typically run around 180 with LDL at 100. I have also had some minor ED symptoms, which is what led me to health changes and seeking information.

Otherwise, I am actually in the best shape of my life and am very active in a cross-fit gym.  I also now do yoga once a week.  I have also modified my diet from a paleo diet, to a modfied paleo where I eat only lean meats and focus on avoiding processed carbs and gluten.  I still eat eggs, olive oil, nuts and avacodos as main sources of fat.

If you want to solve your problem for once and for all check International Life Care Hungary. There you can read about the true cause of the cholesterol problem and atherosclerosis. The trouble is the malfunction of cholesterol metabolism, because of wrong lifestyle or a contagion the produciton of certain antibodies to cholesterol had been reduced. You can search after the anticholesterol antibody as well, but the site I menitod has its solution for it too. I was attending at their treatment-tour in Budapest, and my plaques disappeared about 85-90% after half a year! Check ILC Hungary, you'll have answer for everything concerning atherosclerosis.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, please don't worry about the plaque, as long as the blood supply is not compromised, you may not have a problem. It could most commonly be due to atherosclerosis, a disease where the 'fatty' material in the blood gets deposited in the walls of the blood vessels. Certain conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking and sedentary lifestyle promote this. So, work on controlling the high risk factors. Regards.
