2 yr old with plagiocephaly

My daughter's pediatrician discouraged banding or helmet for my daughter when she was a baby saying that it would round out on it's own. It didn't and now I'm noticing facial asymmetries that I hear are caused by the plagiocephaly. Are there any treatments possible at this point? Is there any chance the asymmetries will get worse over time? Any chance her head shape may improve as she grows?

I agree and have made 2 appointments with craniofacial specialists. I was just trying to find out if surgery is ever done on 2+ yr olds to correct plagio. Not that I am hoping for surgery, but I would know if it's ever done.

Without an examination and possible X-ray studies, it is impossible to determine what is best for your daughter.  You need to have her examined by a craniofacial (or maxillofacial surgeon specialist to advise you.
