Can anyone help me with a breast implant that leaked

I am a very depressed 52 year old woman. 11 years ago, because they never really developed & one was smaller, with a desire to have a balanced body I had breast implants in Santa Fe, NM. I am from MS and in 2001 moved back to be closer to my family and aging mother. Now the implant on the right  leaked. Something happened at some time because I now look deformed. And the worst part is my financial situation is nothing compared to when I had them done. The left one is flat and sagging and the right, you can see the outlines of the implant & the loss of fluid. They hurt & I am one of millions who are now living on a string, on a below poverty income, my husband & I have separated. I am desperate to get help.  They are worse now and unless I win the lottery the day I can pay will not come. I was never as happy as when I first got them. I felt normal, I didn't ask for huge breasts, I just wanted a rounded normal curvy figure. My confidence went up, it was just great. But I had a great job back then & the situation now is not. I will discuss in person if  a Dr. that wants to stop someone's suffering & restore her body to some semblance of normal well, I don't have the words to tell you how life changing that would be.. I have saline implants. One must have resealed after the leak or it would be totally flat I was told. And they hurt & have a burning sensation.. Please help me, I am asking you please, please help me. I know people consider it a vanity. This goes far beyond that. I live now in Pensacola, FL. I have been so frustrated for years & how helpless I am. There are so many very wealthy plastic surgeons, undoubtedly there is one for me? So are you out there? My doctor with a great big heart, please, please help me. Words could not be found of the gratitude I would have. So with my hat in my hand again, I will sign off and pray that I will get a well deserved break after 4 hurricanes and have something major good happen in my life, and yours.

I already knew the info sent to me. When I wrote back to say that and more I got a automated response that he is not available. Pretty much what I figured. Nothing and just more depressed. My advice to women....NEVER get breast implants unless you are wealthy for life.

Thank you Dr. Rosenberg but I have already done that. My warranty was 10 years, doctors want $4,000 up front and then if the implant is not defective I have the additional fee of new breast implants. I don't have $4,000 so I can't get any help. Everybody wants lots of money. Or they are worried about liability on work they didn't do to begin with. I would be more than happy to sign a hold harmless or whatever one would do to get these out of me. I was not being melodramatic. I am desperate. It is a constant, painful, depressing ugly condition. I was also told if I just had them removed all the stretched skin from the years of the implants would just collapse. I have seen pictures of what that looks like. There are so many extremely wealthy plastic surgeons that could me, they just have to say I want to help this woman and write it off on their taxes possibly. I just thought maybe this would be my miracle.
Have a blessed day. Thanks for your email.

Most of the major US implant manufacturers provide lifetime warrantees for their saline implants - i.e. they will replace the ruptured implant at no charge.  Generally, after ten years, they will not cover the cost of replacement - either the surgeons fee or the facility and anesthesia fee involved. You need to obtain documentation from your original surgeon of the size and manufacturer of your implant. I also suggest seeking help at a university teaching hospital with a plastic surgery training program.
