Chronic pain from otoplasty. Any ideas help or suggestions?

I had an otoplasty a few years back and ever since then my skin on my neck feels pulled tight(and he was pulling it tight when putting in stitches =/). And have pain that goes behind ear down neck and into my shoulder sometimes. It bothers me chronically. Any help or suggestions? Thanks

ya i went to another plastic surgeon but he was hesitant to do anything and didnt want to go forward with anything as he was unsure about the pain and everything. so that was not much help. so i guess ill go ahead and try to get a referral to multi specialty pain clinic. just kinda scared how much they may charge as i have no insurance :/

I suggest an examination by another plastic surgeon.  It also would be appropriate for a pain clinic referral by your primary care physician.

I didn't want to write the whole story as to make the question so complicated at first glance but i got the otoplasty done. Then one year later had it "reversed"(same surgeon). When he reversed it i distinctly remember him pulling on my neck skin(?) very hard. I was concerned but thought the tightness and "pulling" feeling would go away as it healed. It did not. :(

Okay so surgeon was very rude and acted as if their could be no pain there and would not fix it :(

I feel lost i don't  know where to go.. a multi-spcialty pain clinic? Will I need a referral?

This is a very unusual complaint that suggests chronic irritation of a nerve in the post-auricular area.  It could also be a form of a condition know as sympathetic dystrophy.  Have your surgeon evaluate you.  You might also consider being seen at a multi-specialty pain clinic to evaluate your condition.
