Hi Dr. Rosenberg,
I was wondering if you could provide me some insights. I had my breast augmentation revision surgery a little over 4 weeks ago. At the 4-week mark, I put a very thin layer of aquaphor along my incision. The next morning I woke up with a blood stain on the gauze. In the next couple of days, whenever I lay down, and my bra irritated the incision line I suppose, then I bled... it soaked through the gauze. This happened two times. In between, the bleeding will stop. However, now that I have changed bras, it doesn't bleed unless when the incision gets wet in the shower, and when I blot dry it afterwards, it oozes some serum fluid.
I am concerned about that it doesn't really ooze during the day...however everytime it gets cleaned / wet, when blot dryed, it oozes fluid. There is a small hole (2mm) which is where the oozing is coming from. I am worried whether this is going to seal.
Please let me know what you think. I already spoke to my plastic surgeon, and he does not see a problem. I am however, very concerned about the oozing and the hole 4 or 5 weeks post-op....
What is the best course of action in your opinion?
Thanks very much.
