Steroid injections for the purpose of reducing hypertrophic or keloid scars generally do not cause fat atrophy when properly injected and monitored. Steroid injections for treatment of disease processes can result in this problem when injected improperly into subcutaneous tissue.
OMG I second that question! I had horrible complications from a demi lift w platysmal plication. Couple of years ago I am still dealing w residual effects and probably will still need a revision! Had steroid shots which caused painful fat atrophy which needed additional surgery to remove! Its been a nightmare for 2 years and still did not achieve optimal results and in some ways looks worse than before the surgery althought in other ways there is an improvement but it was a trade off none the less. Improved one area but made another area worse that was it was before the surgery. So yeah, why the steroid injections? They cause more complications
