Method used in 15% TCA peel

My new Derma. performed a 15% TCA peel, full face, yesterday. My question is his method. In the past, my old Dr gently wiped the solution on my face with a brush. My new Dr rubbed aggressively with a gauze. I have pre-conditioned my face, am evenly red/slight brown today 24 hrs late. I still feel tingling but wonder if his way was not too aggressive or even neccessary. I understand it is possible to achieve even a deep peel this way?
Thanks in advance....

On my 6th day post -peel. as of day 4 i started to develop very painful pimples in the marrionet area of my face. The Dr has just prescribed me Minac 50. Can you tell me the risk of these pimples leaving behind red marks? It seems as if my skin may just end up in worse condition than before the peel. I am still wondering if his aggressive method of application may have caused this condition. The overall peel is satisfactory, but not appearing as deep as my prior 15% by my old Dr. Do you have any idea why i have had this reaction, as he doesn't.

The depth of the peel is controlled by the number of passes over the face, rather than the aggressiveness of the application.  In addition, the concentration of TCA also plays a role, with a 30% solution being the more aggressive treatment.
