Scar Tissue in Son's Cheek

Hello - My son was kicked by a calf two summers ago.  Along with dislodged teeth, his cheek was slashed.  There is a large marble size of scar tissue that has developed and seems to be growing.  He drools all the time and saliva spills out of his mouth at times when he is talking.  The kids are making fun of him at school and I feel terrible.  Could the drooling be a cause of the scar tissue?  It is right where his cheeks come together on the left side of the mouth.  Also, what options might there be to correct this problem?  Thanks so much!

It would be impossible to evaluate your son without a direct examination.  The drooling could be the result of the laceration.  A scar revision might correct both the scar and the drooling.  He needs to be evaluated by a local plastic surgeon to determine what is best for him.

Thank you so much for your response!  Just to clarify, a cheek laceration "could" cause excessive drooling.  I really appreciate your help!
