Scar revision

I have a horrible scar I acquired in my early 20's from a chemical and heat burn.  It is right in the middle of my neck and it pulls the skin under my chin down causing me the appearance of being much older than my 38 years.  I had not noticed how bad this scar was until I lost 75 pounds and now it is so noticeable that I avoid mirrors almost completely.  The scar is directly under the chin, right in the middle of the neck area and 3/4" wide and about 1" long.  This is really messing with my head and I am curious if it will cost me a great deal to fix this issue.  The sad thing is this scar was caused during a quest to remove facial hair from my face and neck area and I really should have sued the cosmetician that burned me.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I want to thank you for your response. I had an idea your answer would be exactely as it was given the type of issue and scar I described.   I need to save up just for an initial consultation.  I know beauty is more an inner thing but it is hard to see myself like this.

Thank You,

Cindy

It is worth obtaining an opinion with a local plastic surgeon, who can determine the type of procedure best suited to correct the problem and its cost.  It is not possible to do this based on your written description.
