I currently use a combination of power assisted liposuction and traditional liposuction with consistently excellent results. I have been performing liposuction since the early 1980's when first introduced in the U.S. and to my knowledge, have never seen a case of fat emboli. The adrenaline used in the tumescent technique is usually quite dilute and I have not seen any significant cardiac effects, but I suggest you have your plastic surgeon discuss this issue with your cardiologist.
I should add that I take Inderal 30 BID and have not had to have adenosine in some time. Echo, holter, cardiac panel, & BP normal. No other PMH. Dental work done with novacaine without epi and without incidence. I was told that if I up my beta blocker to 40 prior to surgery I should be blocked and that the epi should not have a systemic effect. Thanks
