2 LUMPS ON FACE 3 WEEKS AFTER FACE LIFT

DEAR. DOCTOR,

A LITTLE OVER THREE WEEKS AGO I HAD A LOWER FACE LIFT WITH THE USUAL BRUISING, NUMBNESS AND SWELLING.  THE BRUISING IS GONE, BUT THE OTHER SYMPTOMS REMAIN.  WHAT TROUBLES ME IS THAT, YESTERDAY, I NOTICED A PUFFY BULGE ON THE BONE UNDER MY EYE (NO EYE LIFT); LATER A BUMP/LUMP SHOWED UP ON MY CHEEK ON THE SAME SIDE OF MY FACE. THE LUMP IS SLIGHTLY DISCOLORED.  IT THAT A NORMAL PROCESS OF HEALING OR WOULD IT INDICATE A PROBLEM?.  MY DOCTOR WON'T RETURN UNTIL TUESDAY.  ASIDE FROM THESE LUMPS, ALL SEEMS TO BE ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESONSE.,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE.  I GOT IN TODAY AND MY DOCTOR SAID HE "DIDN'T KNOW" WHAT IT WAS, BUT FELT IT WASN'T SERIOUS AND WOULD RESOLVE IN TIME... HE GAVE ME A STRANGE LITTLE VIBRATOR TO MESSAGE IT.  I DON'T LIKE THE VIBRATOR, ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE A RETINAL WRINKLE AND MANY FLOATERS.  IT FEEL THIS WILL JAR MORE LOOSE.  ISN'T IT UNUSUAL THAT A SYMPTOM OF THIS TYPE WOULD DEVELOP 3 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY?  COULD IT BE A HEMATOMA?  DO YOU RECOMMEND MESSAGE WITH, OR WITHOUT, THE VIBRATOR?  I'M GOING OUT OF TOWN FOR A MONTH AND THIS REALLY CONCERNS ME.

Three weeks is quite early after a major facelift procedure.  Puffiness and bumps are not uncommon aft this time.  I am sure your doctor will reassure you about this.
