Lense Replacement Surgery (MPlus) Is it safe?

I  recently went to see about Eye Laser and was told for me to have this done would be a waste of time. The optician suggested i should have new lenses put in my eyes (MPlus) My husband says this is very dangerous and looking at the videos on u tube certainly makes me feel worse. I am fed up wearing glasses and contact lenses and have been wearing contact lenses for too many years now. The optician told me if i have lense replacement it would mean i would never suffer from cataracts for the rest of my life and i would be able to see for the rest of my life without any aids unlike laser which only lasts a few tears. He also told me this would be beneficial for me as my eyes are showing early signs of cataracts although im not sure if he is just guessing at this due to my age. My job involves very intensive computer work and i also drive. I would appreciate any comments on this surgery

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
In lens replacement eye surgery, your eye's natural lens is replaced with an artificial one to achieve sharper focus. But it is advisable to discuss about the same with an eye specialist before going in for this procedure. It may cause redness, irritation, inflammation of the iris, thinning of corneal tissue, cataracts or even decreased vision or loss of eyesight.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
