Any one start out with just positive ASCA tests?

I am curious as to if anyone else had just positive ASCA IgG and IgA tests before they had intestinal damage?? My tests came back REALLY HIGH, IgG was 53 and IgA was 65. I know i have a gluten sensitivty, which i now follow a GF diet and that has helped some, but not all has resolved! I have all the symptoms of Crohn's (arthritis, anemia, loose stools, mouth sores, you get the picture). My doctor refuses to even try anything until i have intestinal damage. How long can all of these other symptoms last before damage begins? I have been in pain and having issues for 2 years. I haven't worked for over a year due to the joint issues (i'm allergic to NSAIDS so i can't take anything for it, that is not narcotic). Is there anything else that i could try that might help, since i can't get a doctor to treat me? My biological father had Crohn's so i know i'm predisposed especially with the antibodies now showing up.
Thanks

I am sorry for your troubles. I too have positive ASCA test and all the symptoms of Crohn's. I have had colonoscopy, small bowel series and pill camera endoscopy and all are normal. So, my dr. will not do anything to treat me unless he SEES the Crohn;s. I am SICK as can be w/ stomach pain, constant bathroom trips, nausea, no appetite etc. etc.  I am so upset.
My cousin has it and says I sound just like her before she got treated.
So I share in your frustration and pain. I hope you get another Dr to help you or something. I am in the process now of finding a new GI.
My thoughts are with you. Keep me updated if you can!

I have crohn's disease and it took many tests to find out that I had it......in 2001 and it was found in the last 4 cm of the ileum.........I believe I had a 3 D ultra sound back then.......have you had a colonoscopy to see if Crohn's is present.  I cannot for the life of me understand "why your doctor will do nothing until there is damage done"......I would think it would be best to prevent damage and watch what you eat.....there are many good Crohn's information sites, and Celiac Disease, etc......maybe do some of your own research.....and maybe it would not hurt if you got a 2nd opinion......Have you been to a Gastrionologist?
I did not take medications when I was first tested and found to have Crohn's due to financial situation and I felt pretty good.......but I ended up having a bowel resection and having a fistula drained......and boy did I feel like **** after that.....the crohn's is now under control but the operation really took a toll on my muscles and joints......I also have fibro......and now I have osteoarthritis.........I was on so many drugs while hospitalized for a month......steroids, antibiotics and huge doses.....
I would not want anyone to have anything like this to deal with in their lives.......so please get a 2nd opinion.....and find out what it is that you really have........and take preventative measures.......I really hope you get well.........and soon......take care
