Colonoscopy Results - Need your advice and help!

I just got my scope results from the GI doctor. Biopsies were taken from my Large and Small Intestines. From the the results, I was told I have H Pylori and some non-specific Inflammation/irritation in the end of Small Intestine(I guess my Ileum as Doc was not very clear). I was told what I have may not be IBD and maybe IBS but if I get Diarrhea I would go on medications. Was not told what type of medications I would go on. I was told not to worry about H Pylori and dont have to treat it right now unless I have H Pylori infection symptoms. Can anyone please suggest what you make of all this? Can the Inflammation in my intestine be caused by H Pylori?  Is there a specific marker for Crohn's/IBD and Celiac as the biopsies were not-specific? I continue to suffer from bowl problems/IBS type symptoms for over a year now. All my blood work/stool analysis is normal. My Upper GI series and Ultrasound is also normal.

Thank you!
Perez..

Hi aunni88,
I have not addressed my GI problems yet. I was told by GI doctor no meds unless I have frequent and prolonged diarrhea. I have not treated my H Pylori yet. Last time I went to ER when I took the treatment for H Pylori. I am trying to reduce my symptoms by eating broccoli sprouts. I have had mixed results so far. I also drink lots of Ginger tea made fresh from Ginger. I just shred fresh ginger with little honey and boil it in water. Ginger acts as an anti-inflammatory but it sometimes constipates. I am just waiting to get little healthier before I start the H Pylori treatment again. Wish me luck.

Let me know how your situation turned out.

Regards,
Perez..

It's been a while since you've posted.  Did you ever resolve your GI problem?  If so, how?  I also have the same symptoms as you both. blood and stool results...ok.  Inflammation found in biopsy.  Waiting for doctor to prescribe something.  I'm wondering if I need antibiotics if it's a parasite or something.  Also, did you have empty stomach kind of pain and nausea too?  What did you do that helped that?  Hope to hear good news from you soon!
Thanks

I will get the biopsy results and review it with my family Doc. I have a CT scan and Ultrasound of my abdomen scheduled in the next few weeks. I will also ask for  marker tests for any IBD that they can look into. Looks like, I will need another GI doc to look at my situation. I have to treat the H Pylori. I tested +ve for it via a blood test in April and I was put on H-PAC to treat the bug, but I got sick after the 3rd day and had to go to ER. I got very constipated and could not eat or drink anything. I abandon the treatment until now to see what the GI doc had to say about it. Now the GI doc wants me try the H-PAC again after I told him what happened. He said you can have Miralax in the morning before taking the meds to avoid constipation. Can anyone please tell if my reaction to H Pylori meds was allergic or because I could not eat or drink anything? If kindly also advise if there are alternative treatments to kill this bug?

My other worry is that if my symptoms are due to H Pylori or if have some kind of IBD. I have recently noticed that I starting to get headaches, nausea, eye redness and eye pain. I just went to see the eye doc and he said I have (Eyelid Inflammation Blepharitis) which is very common and and not worry about it. He doesn't think its due to IBD.  I also have seasonal allergies. So the docs usually tie my bottom/abdomen problems to my hemorrhoids and my eye problems to my allergies. I hope to get to the bottom of my problems soon. I want to live again.

I will be in touch.
Thanks!

hey perez,
I can very much relate to your issues.  I am going through basically the same thing, where Ive had issues every day for over a year, yet my tests are normal with some non specific inflammation, yet no one can seem to get a diagnosis.  IBS was the most likely tossed around thing from the doctors i have seen.  I don't have any of the "red flag" symptoms so for now, its IBS.  Im not too sure about the H.Ply thing, althougth that is usually asscociated with ulcers in the stomach or upper small intestine, and causes low level inflammation.  Most people with that have no symptoms though.  Let me know if you find out anything further, cause our conditions are mirroring each other.
Thanks
