Mega I had pre-op yesterday and they said they were going to use propafol  and that is causes amnesia so even though I will only be twilighty, I won't remember later. Knowing that helps a little.

I was a teenager going through this and my mom liked to call them "bad dates". If you have a sense of humor, use it. If you can make light of a situation it sure helps the nerves. I have had at least 25 scopes in my past and every single one made me nervous. I hated it. My dignity left.. I would roll myself over and tell them to just get it over with, but I always had anesthetic. I recommend that too, by the way. I don't care how much it may cost, I would never let anyone touch me without putting me out. The gastro scope you need to be partially awake so you swallow it. They should tell you this, if they don't.. Now you know, so you're warned if you happen to have any uneasy feelings afterwards.

Good luck and I hope you get some answers!!
