What i am afraid of is surgeries.. and have a history of depression and anxiety, been on ssri's, currently asacol 400mg 2 x 4 for 3 days and symptoms gone. Prior to this i had a CT colonography, would the CT detect advanced Crohn's disease like narrowings etc? Thanks
Hi!
Normally IBD and Crohn’s do not alter your life expectancy. However, you will need to take control of your diet for life. Also, you will need to be on medications on and off. Crohn’s can also affect skin, joints etc.Medications and right diet are necessary for keeping the Crohn’s under control. Other than this you can lead a pretty normal life. Hope this helps. Take care!
