Weight Gain

I was diagnosed with Chron's last September.  I was pretty sick for about a month until they finally found out what was wrong with me.  I lost about 10 pounds.  Now since then, I keep gaining weight.  It thought individuals with Chron's lost weight.  Also, I was thinking about taking the drug HCG, what do you think?  Is this dangerous for me since I have Chron's?

Hi,

I was diagnosed with Crohn's a little over 3 years ago. I also was VERY sick for quite a while until they found out what was wrong and brought it under control. I've had a couple small bouts since, mostly during the first year 1/2. I have since felt so good and yes gained all of my weight back PLUS. I eat everything in sight (except sausage and pepperoni and not alot of creamy stuff) I even stopped taking my medicine at one point because I thought "I was cured" Don't ever do that..no matter how good you feel for how long. It does come back. I recently had my gall bladder out which they said happens alot in people with Crohn (it happens alot in chunky women of childbearing years too, but who am i to say right?) Anyway, I have reduced my ASACOL here and there depending on my symptoms, but my case I'm convinved is minor compared to most I've read about. I hope yours is too. Be glad you're gaining weight, just not too much :-) You may need it someday.

Good Luck

Did they put you on steroids?  That can make you gain weight.  I don't know anything about hcg.  Sorry.
