I am new to this forum, and too have Crohn's disease. I have had the disease since 2004 or earlier in my life and have never been in remission. It has cost me my job, some friends, lots of money, time, happiness, and many other things. I would love to hear from other people who have the same things as me just to feel like I am not alone on the planet with his. I have extreme pain all the time and my stomach almost ever feels good. I have been diagnosed with RA, sacral illitius, and thrush in my mouth most likley due to my Remicaid treatments which are every 4 weeks. I am newly married (just one year) and this disease has caused our first year to be very unpleasant. I would love to just make friends with someone that feels like I do; but do not wish this on anyone ever.
Hope to hear from someone soon.
I am a 42 yr. old woman, married to a very understanding and loving man for 20 yrs. I am also a mother of 4 who is living with crohns. I don't know anyone around personally with crohns and thats how I found this site. It has been such a big help to me. Just to have people understand what I'm going through and to read stories of so many others going through the same thing. I hope to hear from you and good luck with your crohns.
Welcome!
I'm 32 years old, married to a wonderful man and have a 12 year old step-son.
We haven't had children together because of my health but we've decided to talk about it again in another two years. I'm not concerned about carrying a child, but more the lack of sleep and energy. Right now, I need to stick to routines and get lots of sleep inorder to maintain my health continue working. This won't always be the situation, but it is for now.
I'm not sure if I'm in the same situation as you, but I'm hear to help if I can.
Welcome too - glad you found this site... If you are a true "Geordie" and live in the North East of England, you may think about joining NACC (National Association for Colitis & Crohn's" - google their website for more information. They have various branches around England where you can meet others in a similar situation and get support. The Head Office in St. Albans, publish a quarterly newsletter with current research articles, questions to gastroenterologists, and more importantly for you, a page for pen pals where you can connect with other IBD patients with similar ages, interests etc.
I am from the North East originally, Darlington, Co. Durham, but left to get married in 1964 - still got the accent though! I am 63 yrs old, no children, so not really the person you need.....but always willing to offer emotional support/experiences of 38+ yrs of Crohn's.
I hope someone your age, with young children, comes along with whom you can correspond.
Take care,
Liz.
