loose seton

I had a surgery to repair a fistula 3 weeks ago doctor put a seton which was there for all this time doctor sed that i needed to keep the seton tight which I did but last night I knowrest the seton was loose and when I check it was out the end that was inside the surger hole had a loop of aproximately 1/4 of an inch my question is the seton rip or it did what it was supost to do as doctor sed cut my mussel and that why is out please anyone that had this problem let me know what's going on with my seton

julie thanks for answering my question. No I never tried a wound vac pump accordin to my doctor that seton was set there to help my fistula to heal and also to cut my musscle little by little  but he necer tlad me how long this fistula was going to take to heal the other option you mention Cimzia what is this???

Rob,

My son had a seton and a non-healing anal fistula for about 4 years. It is now closed. Only two things finally did it. One: He went on a wound vac pump (this reduced the fistula to a tiny size) and Two: going on Cimzia.
Can you please let me know if you ever tried a wound vac pump?
I think most people believe it is not an option to them.
