After a week in the hospital last spring I was told that i have Crohn's.  Well that explained a lot of the issues I have had for most of my life.  Right now my big prolem is this: I`m not a meat eater.  I`ve spent my life going off and on with meat.  My mother was a vegitarian while I was growning up and raised my mostly on soy products.  I have been thinking of going back to no meat but I`m wondering if this is okay to do with Crohn's.  Also I've noticed that when my intestings are acting up but I'm still hungry I will actually crave sugar or carbs. Not sure if that normal or not! Any advise on the veggie life? Thanks

meat is actually a good thing to give up .. my doctr said if i want meat to ony have filet minon .. cause i guess its not as tough as others and there is no fat ... when you body is hungry you may not know you are hungry but it sends off signals which makes you crave sugar and carbs ..about 3 months back all i would eat was candy
food made me sick so i would drink ensures.. and eat candy all day ...

I have Crohn's and steering away from meats cant be a bad thing as its harder for the digestive system to break down meat.

Im having my first flare up since i was diagnosed several years back, my Dr's are having a tough time getting it under control and i also am craving carbs and sugar. Wonder why that is, i'll ask my Dr next appt.

I know this wasnt an answer but know your not going through this alone.
