Proctitis but no sympthoms any more

Hi

Abraham
28 years old - Male
around 3 years ago  ( 2010 ) I had bleeding and mucus in my stool
gastroenterologist diagnosis was "sever Proctitis"  after Colonoscopy and prescribed "Pentasa" suppository (1g). ( I had no risky sex exp never ever)

I took almost 40 suppository start form every day - then every other day- every 2 weeks and so on ... (for around 3 month )

From the time a give up till now is around  2 year and I never ever faced any symptoms of Proctitis ( no bleeding - no mucus- no discharge , no diarrhea )  I should also add that during this time I controlled my stress and especially controlled my diet ( sugar- chocolate- milk- yoghourt and ... )
Just one case I am really worry and I don't know is it related to my previous disease or not  and that's it :
during this 3,4 month ago sometimes when I get up in the morning ( just morning ) I feel that I have mucus in my mouth and the color always is white ( but I don't have any other  UC symptoms )

please help (Mfirst experience of colonoscopy was not good. should I repete it again ? )

I should also add , most of my wrong life style was as you mentioned here ,and I am going to change them. normally I eat too late and directly after that I go for sleeping, mostly do not use pillow for sleeping and .... then thanks for your advise

Just 2 more question ; this symptom ( having  green phlegm or mucus form my throat ) is not related to my proctitis ? Since I don't have any more Proctitis symptom, does it mean that I already cured ?

and the last question is about the relationship between Proctitis or Ulcerative Colitis and taking Isotretinoin (Accutane). do you believe that Isotretinoin (Accutane) cause Proctitis or Ulcerative Colitis  ? since when I was young I used this medicine for my acne and I searched in the internet many have the same story with me - I mean using Isotretinoin (Accutane) and then Proctitis or Ulcerative Colitis. what is your idea ?

Hi Abraham!
Mucus in mouth felt first thing when you get up is usually due to gastric reflux. Please make some life style changes such as taking a late night snack, drinking cold milk, avoiding heavy meals and eating frequent small meals, avoiding too much of caffeine, tea, smoking, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones, avoiding heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal, raising the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees, and avoiding lying down for least 2 hours after food.
If it is a mild reflux, these lifestyle changes will control it. If the reflux is bad you may need some medications to control it. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
