I already stated above. Cooking in olive oil can get you some extra calories. If you have a GNC, they have a weight gainer powder that you can mix with milk (regular or Lactaid), several small meals thru out the day, high in protein and carbs. You can look up weight gain diets on the internet. Uc is very individualistic so foods that I can eat may not agree with you. You need to tailor a diet to suit your needs.
Can u plz give me tips on gaining weight even during uc
I was thin my entire life, especially in my teens - I'm 5'6" and I barely weighed 100lbs. I was diagnosed with Uc at 22 but at that time I had a child so I gained a little weight from that. The weight came back off quickly though. I am 41 now and I am at my ideal weight of 135lbs. I started gaining weight about 5 years ago. So it's been a constant battle for me to keep the weight on. I have no clue what my BMI is but I hardly have any fat on my body and especially when I am flaring or when I was underweight - the fat was almost nil.
My uc is under control but sometimes i get an attack of it. How long were u underweight and what was the lowest bmi u had to face....??
I was also under weight for many many years. I have tried everything and the only thing that worked was getting my Uc under control along with age! lol But a few things that helped are: Protein shakes (with dairy if you can handle it), cooking foods with olive oil and eating several small meals throughout the day. Is your Uc under control now?
