GOP Spokesman: ‘Let’s Hurl Some Acid At Those Female Democratic Senators’

Jay Townsend, the communications director for Republican Rep. Nan Hayworth, has an interesting solution for dealing with female Democrats: “hurl some acid” at them.

Townsend fired the latest shot in the war on women via Facebook last week, in response to a commenter named Tom.

When is Tommy boy going to weigh in on all the Lilly Ledbetter hypocrites who claim to be fighting the War on Women? Let’s hurl some acid at those female democratic Senators who won’t abide the mandates they want to impose on the private sector.

Dozens of outraged constituents immediately attacked Townsend’s comments.

“Acid attacks are particularly brutal, aimed almost solely at women, with the intent to maim and disfigure,” one commenter replied. “I couldn’t imagine a worse piece of invective from someone who puts the Republican war on women in quotes.”

“Suggesting that someone throw acid in women’s faces is, in a word, despicable. The Taliban is NOT a role model,” wrote another.

Ironically, Townsend — who has worked on more than 300 political campaigns in more than 25 different states — offers free campaign and communication tips on his website. In the section “What do you do when a prominent supporter does something idiotic?” Townsend suggests that “you have about three seconds to put some distance between yourself and the idiot.”

“When a prominent supporter goes off the reservation and says something idiotic, YOU need to be the one to set the record straight and you need to do it immediately and forcefully,” he writes.

Representative Hayworth has not acted on her spokesman’s own advice; as of now, Townsend is still with the campaign.

Another section on Townsend’s site offers a list of “the 10 worst mistakes candidates make.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to include “hiring Jay Townsend.”

Make no mistake, Soros is a dirty rascal.  He throws hundreds of millions of dollars that make the Koch brothers efforts look like the kid on the corner selling pencils, profits.

Soros has enough money and leverage to bring down nations economies. (He is quoted as saying that "it is fun" in reference to crumbling peoples economies.) He is the worlds biggest globalist and gives a big share of his bucks to the most ultra liberal learning institutions not only here, but abroad.  His theory is, "capture the youth and capture the future.".

This guy is in it for money... nobody in his game compares to him.  Take some time and poke around about this guy.

I think you misunderstand when you say its about money. Citizens united should have never happened. I dont like ceos of companies in other countries having a say in our election process, nor corporation here at home either. It is corrupt to no end. Norquist is the power behind the republicans we elect. I see that as corrupt as well. I see the republicans and norquist pandering to the rich at everyone elses expense as corruption. Kochs have put themselves into the middle of the whold process and an example is Wisconsin. I could go on and on and on. I dont know that soros is throwing money to get anyone elected or pandering to the rich, but if he is, he is right up there with the rest of em. GE? Yeah GE utilizing those very loopholes that need to be closed? GE is one of those corporations people like Norquist want to give even more tax breaks to. imo

It is the powerful and rich using the money to divide and conquer that I have a problem with. All at the rest of our expense.

The only acid slinging incident I even know of was the woman who claimed that someone (a man) jumped out of nowhere, threw acid on her and badly disfigured her.... twas not politically motivated, and the woman did it to herself.

Kind of reminds me of what this nation is doing, politically.  It is throwing acid in our faces.

I said once before that I thought the nation was never more divided.  I was wrong.  We're now more divided than we've ever been and it is out elected officials, giant corporations, big money in the name of billionaires like Norquist, Koch, and Soros (who likely spends more money than Norquist and GE combined) and it keeps coming.

So many people that comment regularly comment on this board say that money is an issue.  The division starts here.  The left has no problem with Soros, but will point fingers at Koch and Norquist all day, the right will point fingers at Soros.... no one is pointing fingers at people with their own ideals if their money supports those ideals.

With that being said, should anyone really be complaining bout "money" being the problem?
