Wasn't it Henry Ford who figured out about 100 years ago, that if you pay workers a livable wage they buy your products and the economy gets 'stimulated'? What's up that our Senators are too dumb to understand this ?

Because it was show that is would end up costing 500,000 jobs. Do you really want to pay $3 for a burger at Burger King? A family meal at a fast food place costing $30?
Also it doesn't mean that people making $11 would get a raise, all that means is that more $ will be coming out of our pockets so more people will go into poverty. Which means more food stamps which means higher taxes.

This increase is going to cost jobs.
Since it's not going to happen the cost is going to be a decline in *real* income as the inflation built into our economic system makes it harder for workers (the real job creators in our country) to spend. But hey, stifle the recovery and try to make our President look bad regardless of the cost.

This was not a vote on the Floor for the Minimum Wage Bill but to Bi-Pass Procedure. I looked but couldn’t find the Committee it needed to pass in order to go to the floor. Actually, I found very little information at all. So, which Committee is it, who sits on the committee, how many votes did the committee need for it to go to the floor (not the Senate to bi-pass the committee), and is it dead now that the Senate tried to bi-pass procedure and failed?

This was not a vote on the Floor for the Minimum Wage Bill but to Bi-Pass Procedure. I looked but couldn’t find the Committee it needed to pass in order to go to the floor. you know as well as everyone that it now takes sixty votes to get ANYTHING passed in the senate and there are not sixty democratic senators. So how then do democrats control the senate and can therefore get everything they want? Frankly, maybe Harry Reid should have changed the rules to allow that cause we all know too that repubs are still set on the goal to not allow this democratic president any victories. Through that agenda they are hurting the American people who also want a raise in the minimum wage, including a majority of republicans.

Companies like walmart who pay a minimum wage are recieving government subsidys imo.
