I don't think the issue is nearly as much about "those repubs in congress that are willing to at least listen to him.", as it is about those, including the President, that are willing to listen to each other and work together.
IMO, the President should have spent his whole first term reaching out to Congress, rather than a 4 year long campaign for re-election.
I keep hearing about "the President's agenda"; what about an agenda that will be good for ALL Americans, not just what the President wants? Obviously, there are a lot of people who don't think the President's agenda is the right one for the country or his ratings wouldn't be plummeting so fast; there's room for compromise on both sides.
I do think the President could do a better job of reaching out to those repubs in congress that are willing to at least listen to him. This makes me have hope because the senators actually agreed to meet with him so things are looking up....a little bit...
