That's a new concept - to everyone, but us peons......

Of course, investors want a return on their money, which is understandable, so I have to wonder how all these CEO's get the astronomical bonuses.... if they got less bonus, wouldn't that be more dividends for the investors? How do the investors go along with this?

Or am I being naive?

Well, in order to keep costs down.... I bet these guys start importing cheaper nuts, bolts and screws.  Lets see... Oh wait, if we were in other parts of the world, everything has a label that says where it was made.  Yup... every screw, nut, bolt has a label on it.  The paper the directions are on has a label on it..... and that way you can go through the entire parts list and assume if the product is something you feel comfortable buying.

I agree. The products will undoubtedly be more expensive, but the fact that ethical treatment of workers and responsibility to the environment as well as a stimulus to the American economy makes it well worth it in my opinion.
Yes and the quality of the products is crucial.
I remember once looking to buy a car and really wanting to buy American (this was a few decades ago) but the best cars were made in Japan. I was told that American companies deliberately made the cars with inferior parts so as to require ppl to buy replacement parts, etc.
Not sure how true that is, but if so, I hope GM is remedying that now.

My hope is that 'Made In America' will continue to mean better quality products. I don't mind paying more for something produced in a safe, well-lit shop where any waste materials are disposed of properly, but I expect the goods to last longer and be of higher overall quality than something made in a sweatshop.

"After years of offshore production, General Electric is moving much of its far-flung appliance-manufacturing operations back home. It is not alone. An exploration of the startling, sustainable, just-getting-started return of industry to the United States."
And APPLE is coming home too?
What good news. Wow.
Well, there is your stimulus, el. This is very good news
Thanks Desrt.
