Adios Cuba relations.....

https://news.vice.com/article/cuba-throws-unconditional-support-to-venezuela-after-new-us-sanctions

Oh well.  It was nice pretending that we were developing a more friendly relationship with Cuba for a short while.
I'm not exactly sure why Venezuela was announced a National Security Threat.  That, I don't believe is in the article other than human rights violations.....  We are a weird lot.

I'd put Venezuela right in the ready to collapse and revolt category.

We'll see in what order they fall...Libya, Nigeria, Venezuela..place your bets.

Venezuela is the hand that currently feeds them, They will always fall in line behind a current certainty as opposed to a future maybe. Bird in the hand.

There is a lot left unsaid in that final sentence,"The United States is Venezuela's largest trading partner and Venezuela is the fourth largest supplier of crude oil to the US, Reuters reported." A couple years ago, before we became oil exporters ourselves and there were heating oil shortages in the Northeast, Venezuela used to supply subsidized heating oil to the needy. Whether this was done for propaganda effect or out of the goodness of their hearts, it certainly never endeared them to our government or the oil industry.

Personally, I don't like the idea of trying to bed Cuba.  There are books explaining why we aren't better friends.

Cuba needs to maybe learn not to bite the hand that wants to feed them...

Not sure about you, but when I'm attempting to 'get in good' with someone, I don't spout off in support of that person's adversary.
