By no means do I have the answers but I do believe we have laws on the books right now that address the situation. Until we come up with something else, I believe following the laws as written are essential. I don't want to deny anyone looking for a better life the right to that, but I don't think the path way to a better life means you break all of the laws in order to get there... and not suffer some kind of consequences.
I also believe that you cannot go anywhere in the world, expecting to live there, and not have the means to support yourself once you get there. Gotta have a job or a bank account that will allow you to find solid footing. If you can't do that, you're not prepared to move to this country and I don't think it is this country's job to support you when you get here.... we can't even support the Americans here.

No I don't have all the facts but I think if they start with a fence it would help slow down the waves of illegals. Who knows who is coming over besides Latin American citizens. This is a danger to our national soverenty.
Thats what we pay big bucks for them to do, come up with solutions is it not? If I had all the facts, it may make it easier to suggest some, and I dont. Neither do you, other than what they want us to think about it all.

I didnt say amnesty. I said reform. Sitting back because it is an election year is creating alot of this mess. I say, do the damn job you were hired to do and quit using this as a political football to get votes. In other words, they need to shut the hell up and get together and come up with some solutions. Its been a long time i coming and nothing is gonna get better until they do. All you got going on right now is the right saying they are less than human and get rid of em, and the left dissing the right for being heartless. Is that a solution iyo or is that simply more rhetoric. All we get is the rhetoric.

Another subject gone political imo, and I dont think we get the truth in full from anyone. I frankly, dont know what to think. I think the one side saying these people got lice and spreading disease and trying to scare us is crazy and I think the starving save the world is crazy as well. I tend to think legal is good and illegal is good as well, but in my limited knowledge, have not enuff true information to have a valid opinion one way or the other. So one side wants em gone at any cost and the other is peddling compassion and empathy. How about passing some gd immigration reform and address the damn problem is my response!
I agree that we are not responsible for saving the world but I do believe that part of the problems facing our neighbors south of the border are directly related to US policies.

Why are so many children coming to the United States from Honduras? Child migration from Central America is not a new phenomenon, in fact, Hondurans, including adults, are migrating and getting deported in droves. But the reality is Honduran children are fleeing a failing country, where they see it as a do or die situation.
The increase in child migrants from Latin America perhaps can be attributed to an intersection of issues, from U.S. Foreign and Diplomatic policy, Free Trade Agreements, Global and local economics, and the rampant violations of civil guarantees. In Honduras this can be attributed to an attack on the education system, a shockingly poor healthcare system, poor incentives, a violence created by drug cartels that the government cannot control, low wages in export processing zone industries, and a rate of inflation that leaves people not being able to afford quality food and goods, what future is there for a working class kid?
It seems that only the rich can afford to stay in the country, pay for education for their children, afford to buy food and clothing for their families, and the only ones to get Visas to enter the US to vacation or relocate to the US when things get ugly in Honduras.

It's time to realize that we (the US) can not save the world. I have a big heart but we an take on every humanitarian situation the world has anymore.
We ship all our jobs over seas and we bring all in trouble over seas here. Wonder how long that could possibly last.

I’ve read that most are coming from Honduras at a cost of about $5,000. That’s a lot of Lempiras (just learned that word today) and has to come from somewhere. The average Honduran family can’t afford that. I don’t believe they are just going to hand over that kind of money and send their kids off without a destination. I believe most are going to meet up with their parents. If not parents, other family members that have sponsored the $5000 trip. Find their destination and deport them all. Until we can get our own economy in order and secure our border, there is nothing we can do for them.
The U.S. Government gave a total of $88,415,635 to Honduras in 2012. Start deducting the deportation cost from their aid and they will start doing their part in stopping the illegal immigration from their end.

We're all seeing so many reports that might not be representative of the truth. In all reality, how can young children (under the age of 10-12) get here on their own? They can't; they have to be brought here by traffickers or other means..
But then we see pictures of children with their parents... say what? babes in arms are being recruited to gangs? It seems that there are too many stories going around that may be too far from the truth...
The current administration seemed to encourage more immigrants to come in with the promise of being able to stay... now "someone" has to deal with it.. and that should be the same people that sent the wrong signal... they should have to send them home.
This country has always been a melting pot and should continue to be, so long as immigrants come in the right way and become citizens via normal channels... I still don't see whats wrong with coming to this country in a LEGAL manner.
According to a report I heard 60% of these kids are coming from Honduras where the situation is so bad the are literally fleeing for their lives. The parents are in Honduras, not here. For those kids, this is a humanitarian nightmare.
Here is food for thought, Child Abandonment is a Felony. Instead of reuniting these children with their parents, arrest their parents, charge them with the felony, deport them, and send the minors back to their own Government to deal with.

Gang members left graffiti on the walls of the Nogales (Arizona) Border Patrol processing center, which suggested they had ties to the organization, Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich reported earlier this week.
She discussed the alarming report this morning on America's Newsroom, explaining that some of the "unaccompanied minors" are actually teenage MS-13 or drug cartel members. According to current law, the Border Patrol cannot immediately send the teens back because they're under 18.
"They're now using the Nogales processing center as a recruitment hub for new members to come in. They're trying to recruit other teenage boys that are sharing cells with them and they're using the phones that the Red Cross has set up. They're supposed to be using those to call back home or to call family members in the United States. They're also using those as a way to communicate with gang members already in U.S. cities," she said.
Pavlich said the Border Patrol's hands are tied because they cannot separate the gang members from other children. She said according to her sources, these MS-13 members are scheduled for placement somewhere in the United States, adding that I.C.E policy has been to release illegal immigrants with a notice to appear at a hearing at a later date.

I do not believe we should allow anyone to enter this country that doesn't go through the proper channels and that it is appropriate to limit access.
Ha, just returned from a trip and on that vacation we visited Ellis Island. People came over on a boat but if you didn't have a job you were going to or a service of some sort you could provide or a place set up to go and live in, you were not granted access. Plenty were sent back home. Sure, families came here but only if a parent had some type of ability to earn income, if they were healthy, if they had enough money to take a train somewhere, etc.

I know the dictionary definition but by using the word 'alien' it helps to make us feel that they are not like us. But these are people who are indeed like us only their circumstances are different.
My grandmother came over on the boat at the age of 12. Why did she leave her home ? Because it was a dangerous place for her and her parents hoped she'd have a better chance at life in the US.
