Key Words

Contrary to good conscience, morality, or law, a young Norwegian took the lives of 93 innocent fellow citizens recently. Damage has been done to more than just property and lives directly affected in Norway. Key words have been attached to the reports By The Media describing this terribly misguided man and his dreadful actions: Christian fundamentalist ( one who believes in the inerrancy of the Bible), anti-immigration, anti-multiculturalism, opposition to domination by Muslims, right wing, gun ownership.  This will add fuel to the fire of contempt for you if you are traditional, conservative, or Christian. Are you a conservative, believe in a traditional social order, believe in the right to bear arms, against UNLAWFUL immigration, not wanting  America multicultured in to a world social order and not wanting America to lose its national identity? Christianity is now labeled a "religion' of intolerance. America is labeled a country of greed, excess, and indebtedness.....To whom do we owe so much that they have become our masters? What countries make it unlawful to have any other religious faith other than their own? What countries deny their citizens their basic rights? Who comes to our country and uses our Constitution to undermine our way of life?....Why have Americans lost their own sense of Who We Are, How We Are, and What We Are?.........Are we going to stand strong as a country, as a collective culture, as a community, as a family, and as individuals? Has the media already pre-programmed us to a point where we can no longer think for ourselves? Are we going to continue to be indifferent and not demand changes to be made in our National policies?

Did you hear he used rhino bullets. The ones that go in and explode to do the most damage to internal organs. He killed one who ws pleading for his life. Sick you say? Not to me. Evil is more like it. I thought about it and sick is giving him an excuse. He is evil, just like those that caused our tragedy on 9/11. Evil I say.

Mental illness takes on many faces, and this guy was obviously really sick.  He apparently copied some of the Unibomber's rant in his own manifesto.

This was a country where you seldom hear anything about... anything!  Then to have something like this happen is just horrible.

*He can call himself whatever he wants...
*We can label him whatever we want...
*The media can pigeonhole him into whatever category they want...

Bottom line... he had mental issues and was sick to his very CORE.

This is very sad.

A bit more came out on this guy.  Apparantly he is claiming he did this because of the involvement in the Kosovo war in the early 90's?  Also the Afghanistan involvement.  What any of that could possibly have to do with a children's camp is something I can't figure out.  Yep, I'm with Teko.  He can claim any religous belief he would like...a nut job by any other name is still a nut job.

Information on what happened in Norway is still coming out.  It seems there is still much to be discovered in what really sparked this tragic incident.  But I do want to address the issue of Christian fundamentalism as yes, that term has been used.  Just my two cents on the subject -  I think that most people everywhere in the world can see the difference between worship and extremism.  Christianity is not the issue.  The issue is those that take it to the extreme as to believe that those that don't see things the same way they do, or woship/believe the same way they do, feel that killing is the right thing to do.  That is completely contrary to anything the Bible or any other book of worship states.  We have seen it happen with the Muslim extremists and yes, it does happen sometimes with Christian extremists.  Everyone is entitled to feel the way that they do and believe as they do.  However, when any individual takes it to this extreme, or uses religion to justify a hateful act, it's wrong, plain and simple.  If this young man did in fact committ this atrocious act in the name of "protecting Christianity", he is in fact completely disrespecting it.  Same as the Muslim extremist terrorists did.  I guess I just don't see the difference.  It's not attacking Christianity, but the individual or individuals who twisted something beautiful to do something ugly.  But that certainly does not apply to the majority of Christians, and I guess I don't see it as being labeled as such.  Just my opinion.
