Steve Jobs Refused Liver Transplant from Apple CEO Tim Cook

http://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/steve-jobs-refused-liver-apple-ceo-tim-cook-n322921

"Steve Jobs turned down a liver transplant from Apple CEO Tim Cook, according to a new biography. In "Becoming Steve Jobs," Brent Schlender and Fast Company executive editor Rick Tetzeli interviewed Cook, who revealed that he took a blood test after discovering Jobs had cancer. It turned out that they both had the same rare blood type. Cook went over to Jobs' house to offer him part of his liver. In liver transplants, both the donor and recipient's livers grow to a functional size. Still, according to Fast Company, Jobs wasn't having any of it.

"He cut me off at the legs, almost before the words were out of my mouth," said Cook. "'No,' he said. 'I'll never let you do that. I'll never do that.'"

Cook also said, according to the book, "Steve only yelled at me four or five times during the 13 years I knew him, and this was one of them." NBC News reached out to Apple to confirm the incident but the company did not respond. More details are being released in "Becoming Steve Jobs," out March 23, and in excerpts on Fast Company."

I wasn't aware that he had a transplant.

I know a gentleman who was diagnosed with cancer quite a while back.  This was after having a pigs valve transplanted.  He just accepted the whole thing and died about 3 weeks after the diagnosis of cancer.  He just accepted it, spent some time saying good byes and clocked out.

True, however Jobs did get a transplant but not a live liver one.

.Sadly, people often don't realize what a great option live liver transplants can be though that doesn't mean Jobs would have survived.
