Turing Pharmaceuticals of New York bought the drug from Impax Laboratories in August for $55 million and raised the price from $13.50 a tablet to $750.
GlaxoSmithKline sold the drug for about $1 a tablet after being approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1953. CorePharma bought it in 2010 and Impax Laboratories bought Core and all affiliated companies for $700 million last year.
For some patients, this hike in price brings the annual cost of treatment to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Even those with insurance could be paying $150 a tablet......"

I see the insurance companies that hire lobbyists and have sent our medical costs skyrocketing an example of the old Mafia protection racket gone legit.
Why can I walk into a lab in Bangkok and get a whole slew of tests for less than $20 which cost over $ 400 in this country ?
And yes, that silly socialist label. Our libraries which I've bragged about when traveling outside this country, can be seen as socialist.

This mess has to be regulated. Completely out of control. Somehow we need more cures and less treatments and no frigging way does a pill cost $750..... or $150 for that matter, unless it is a cure.
